P&O Cruises' Iona to Sail to Norway's Fjords for Inaugural Season

The newbuild mega-liner of P&O CruisesIona will operate 7-day roundtrips from Southampton UK to Norway (Norwegian Fjords cruises) during its inaugural season.

The 180,000 GT vessel is due to begin operating no-fly cruises in May 2020. Bookings on the 5,200-passenger ship go on sale in September 2018.

Iona has been specifically designed to maximise views from 3-storey high glass walls of her grand atrium. The ship also boasts new mini suites with conservatories.

Powered by LNG (liquefied natural gas), Iona’s call ports in Norway include Alesund, Bergen, Geiranger, HellesyltOldenStavanger.

The Carnival Corporation-owned PandO UK cruise company has developed shore excursions including from high speed boat rides, river rafting, kayaking, crayfish fishing tours, ziplining, helicopter tours over glaciers, light plane tours along Norway’s 2nd largest fjord.
