P&O Cruises Announces the End of Daily Service Charge

   August 24, 2018 ,   Cruise Industry

P&O Cruises announced the end to its service charge, affecting all cruise vacations from May 2019.

Despite raising it to 17% just months ago, the change will make P&O voyages cheaper for its cruise customers.

The company confirmed that this wouldn't mean vacations would increase in price as a result of the change and would only increase because of market demand.

Passengers onboard P&O Cruises trips currently pay GBP 7 per person, per day. The service charge was increased from GBP 6 to GBP 7 in March, with prices in 2016 just GBP 5 per day.

The cruise company also announced it wouldn't affect ship's crew. Tipping, while not expected or required, can be done by passengers in case they choose so.
