The ship is the 2nd in the Global class series. In addition to engineering, Elomatic and Deltamarin will also provide site services at the yard during the ship's construction. Deltamarin and Elomatic, both from Turku Finland, also did large part of the basic and detail design of the first newbuild in the cruise ship series.

The Global class ships are some of the largest cruise ships in the world. When the first one is completed, it will be the biggest ever built in Germany. The 2nd ship being designed will be approx 342-metre long and 46.4-meter wide with 204,000 GT. The ships are specifically designed for the Asian market and can accommodate up to 9,500 guests.
