Holland America Leaves Port Tampa Bay

Holland America is dropping Port Tampa Bay as cruise homeport after April 2019. However, the company says it might return to Tampa in the future.

A number of liners are moving to new itineraries, such as ms Rotterdam currently sailing from Tampa to the Caribbean and Europe.

According to port officials, Holland America Line has carried around 50,000 of the 1+ million cruisers that Port Tampa saw in 2018 (or ~5% of all), so they don't expect the departure of MS Rotterdam to have a significant impact on port's overall cruising business.

Port officials are continuing discussions with HAL, which has been one of four cruise companies homeporting in Tampa (along with Royal Caribbean, Carnival and NCL-Norwegian), about the possibility of returning to the port in the future.

For now, the line lists no voyages from Tampa after April, as well as none in 2020-2021.
