The new TUI Cruises ship Mein Schiff 2 was christened in Lisbon Saturday night, February 9. The singer Carolin Niemczyk from the band Glasperlenspiel served as the godmother.
Carolin spoke her baptismal message and broke the bottle of the champagne on the bow of the new build. After a firework display, she opened the christening party with around 2800 guests onboard with a performance by her band on the ship's pool deck.
Under the motto "On a discovery course", Mein Schiff 2 and her guests departed on February 3 from Bremerhaven for a 12-day baptismal voyage. After spending time in La Coruna and Leixoes, she arrived in Lisbon for 3 days before sailing via Cadiz and Arrecife to Las Palmas.
