Cruise Ship Forced to Cancel Visit to Nanaimo

   July 7, 2019 ,   Accidents

The last cruise vessel scheduled to arrive in Port Nanaimo (BC Canada) for season 2019, unfortunately, will not be making the call. Silver Explorer (one of only 3 cruise vessels due to visit Nanaimo) had scheduled dock on July 11 - the same day as the larger Azamara Quest. However, the vessel was damaged after being entangled with nets in Bering Sea en-route from Alaska. Silver Explorer is currently drydocked for repairs in Vancouver BC. The sustained damages forced the cruise cancellation.

The bigger fleetmate Silver Muse (also owned by Silversea) berthed in Nanaimo in mid-June. The company is confirmed to visit Nanaimo in late-2020.

2019 is Nanaimo's smallest cruise season in the last 4 years.
