Bermuda's Government expects slightly more cruse ship calls in 2020 and is working to keep vessels in port longer. According to a spokesman for the Ministry of Tourism and Transport, it is projected Bermuda will see a total of 199 cruise ship calls in 2020, up from 193 in 2019.

The spokesman added that with a view to increasing the visitor spending, the government, via a partnership with Tourism Authority, was implementing a cruise strategy to encourage 2-port itineraries and attract year-round visits, with smaller luxury vessels calling into Hamilton and St George.

The strategy has "the additional benefit of providing relief to the island‘s transportation infrastructure as it reduces the need for passengers to travel from Dockyard to Hamilton and vice versa.”
