“A”-list English actress Dame Helen Mirren on Tuesday, September 10, christened the 228-passenger Scenic Eclipse at a NYC New York pier-side official ceremony.
The sleek and small vessel features a yacht-like profile. The Eclipse will journey to a total of 68 ports in her inaugural season, including a number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. All passenger airplane flights, transfers, pre-departure hotel stays, restaurants, drinks, in-suite mini-bar, land-based shore excursions, and staff gratuities are included in the fare.
Scenic Eclipse is specially designed as an authentic expedition ship, with an ice-class rating for Arctic and Antarctic sailings. The ship carries snowshoes, kayaks, e-bikes, scuba and snorkeling equipment for passengers, enabling them to extend off-shore exploration. In addition, the Eclipse boasts an expedition submarine, 2 helicopters, 6-passenger Scenic Neptune, and a fleet of Zodiac boats, utilized for included sea and air excursions.
