Explorer of the Seas Passengers Spend Extra 3 Nights On Board

Ahead of storms that were expected in Britain over the weekend, RCI-Royal Caribbean delayed one of its cruise ships by 3 days, wrecking the plans of thousands already onboard or scheduled to embark.

The company informed passengers on Explorer of the Seas that they would not be visiting the Spanish por cities Vigo and La Coruna. Instead of docking in Southampton UK Tuesday morning (November 5) they'll spend an extra 3 nights on the cruise liner.

The ship's late arrival in the UK means that 3000+ passengers booked on the Transatlantic cruise (RepositionCruises.com) will depart 3 days later than planned. Explorer OTS had to sail from Southampton UK on November 5 in the afternoon and cross the ocean in a week. Travelers had booked in the expectation of spending a full day in St Lucia, Barbados, Dominica, Antigua, ending in Miami FL on November 19.

However, passengers have been told the sailing will start on November 8, and miss out all 4 Caribbean islands on the original itinerary.

Royal Caribbean is offering refunds to anyone who wishes to cancel.

Passengers currently onboard Explorer OTS have been told that their 11-night “Sunshine in the Canaries” cruise has been extended to 2 weeks. The ship will additionally visit Malaga and Lisbon on her way back to England.
