A passenger suffering "severe abdominal issues" was taken off Royal Caribbean's Anthem of the Seas late Saturday night, December 28, by a Coast Guard helicopter, the Coast Guard personnel revealed.

The cruise ship was around 17 miles offshore of Little Egg Inlet when the 70-year-old man "needed a higher level of medical care" than what was available on the cruise ship, Coast Guard officials announced in a news release.
