Carnival Cruise Line adds thermal camera systems on all ships

CCL-Carnival Cruise Line announced it had partnered with Infrared Cameras Inc in order to add thermal camera systems for crew member and passenger temperature screenings.

Infrared Cameras Inc (ICI) claims that their cameras have the highest level of accuracy which is within 0.1-0.3 of one degree Celsius.

The comprehensive 3-step solution to temperature screening includes a computer, a thermal camera, and a blackbody. The inclusion of the blackbody temperature reference source is an FDA (Food and Drug Administration) recommendation to ensure accurate results. Without all 3 essential elements, passenger and crew safety may be compromised.

On May 4, 2020, CCL announced that voyages may begin with roundtrips from Florida (Miami, Port Canaveral) and Texas (Galveston) beginning August 1.
