Princess Cruises Panama Canal voyages are scheduled on 3 liners (including MedallionClass). In 1967, Princess became the first cruise company to offer passing through Panama Canal locks. The Princess Panama Canal ships are custom-built to safely navigate the unique inland waterway. The first large cruise liner to sail through the new Agua Clara locks was Caribbean Princess (in 2017-Q3).
For the upcoming 2021-2022 cruise season, 3 Princess ships will sail the Panama Canal with a total of 17 departures and 4 different itineraries. Sailings range from 10 to 15 days and visit 17 destinations in 8 countries.
Season's highlights include:
- 10-day roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades, Florida) visiting Costa Rica and the Caribbean onboard Crown Princess giving passengers the unique experience of transiting the new Panama Canal Agua Clara locks as well as relaxation on the beaches of the Caribbean.
- Panama Canal Ocean to Ocean itineraries sail between Fort Lauderdale FL and Los Angeles or San Francisco CA passing through the new Panama Canal Locks onboard Ruby Princess. The itinerary allows passengers a full transit experience while visiting cruise ports in Mexico, Central, and South America.
- Island Princess offers a pair of 14-day cruises from Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles CA which also transit the Locks.
Itineraries are specially crafted to enrich passengers’ experiences and provide the most exposure to the bucket-list destination like live narration from the navigation bridge while transiting the Locks.
