Building the new digital era in Greece's cruiseferry services, the companies Blue Star Ferries and Hellenic Seaways introduced an e-ticket (boarding pass) application on their Greek routes.

The goal of the new app is “to improve services, make transactions more convenient for passengers, and simplify boarding and travel procedures”

Travellers from all over the world, along with island residents who frequently use the ferries, now can make reservations easier as well as receive and store their tickets and boarding passes. The procedure is quick and convenient - travellers are only asked to use the 2 unique codes they receive together with the reservation’s booking confirmation. Web check-in and e-tickets are available 48 hours prior departure.

The e-tickets can be stored on any smart personal device (tablet, smartphone, etc), in the Wallet and Passbook applications for IOS and Android, respectively. Alternatively, they can be printed on A4 paper.  Upon boarding the ship, passengers simply show their printed boarding pass or e-ticket, accompanied by the identification document (ID, passport, driver’s license, etc).

Via implementing digital procedures, Attica Group (parent company of Superfast Ferries, Blue Star Ferries and Hellenic Seaways) expects to optimize travel experience and passenger services.
