Crew medevaced from HAL-Holland America's cruise ship MS Zaandam

A male crew from the HAL-Holland America Line's ship ms Zaandam, currently anchored off the coast of Torbay UK (England), was medically evacuated on January 8, 2021, to shore for medical treatment.

According to the Torbay coastguard's report, Torbay Coastguard Rescue Team had been tasked by the Maritime & Coastguard Agency to assist with the medevac of the crew who had to be treated in a hospital.

The crew member was transferred onshore via a tender boat which arrived at the harbour at around 7:30 p.m. The rescue team assisted in securing the tender. A member of the team made contact with the cruise ship's senior nurse who accompanied the patient for the handover. 

The report does not name the crew member, his/her nationality, or the reason for the medevac.
