Tauck is expanding its European river cruise operations with 5 new boats scheduled to enter service between 2026 and 2028.
The latest addition, MS Harmonie, is due to debut on the Rhône River in 2028, joining sister ship MS Lumiere. The new boat accommodates 130 guests and follows a similar design, incorporating guest feedback into its layout and onboard facilities.
MS Harmonie will feature a skylit Atrium, 300-ft2 Tauck Suites, the panoramic casual dining venue Arthur’s, and a Sun Deck with a swimming pool, day beds and a full-service bar. The upper Diamond Deck will house The Retreat wellness area, including a fitness centre, massage treatment room and scenic lounge. The ship will operate Tauck’s Savoring France: Paris, Lyon & Provence itinerary, with all-inclusive fares covering shore excursions, gratuities, onboard beverages, airport transfers, luggage handling, taxes and fees.
The expansion also includes MS Reverie, scheduled to enter service on the Seine in 2027, and MS Saudade, which will sail Portugal’s Douro River in the same year. These will follow the launches of MS Lumiere and MS Serene in 2026. Tauck also plans to retire two older vessels while increasing overall capacity, adding destinations, expanding shoulder-season departures and introducing a shorter 6-day programme.
Demand for Rhône River cruises is already running nearly 30% ahead of 2025 levels, according to the company. Tauck expects its river cruise capacity by 2028 to be more than 50% higher than in 2025, with additional itineraries and expanded capacity on popular departures. The family-owned company is also preparing to announce further plans for 2029 and 2030.
