Royal Caribbean partners with TraceSafe, rolls out mandatory contact tracing wearable

Tracesafe Inc - the global leader in location-aware IoT (Internet of Things) platforms for large-scale industrial and enterprise operations, announced a wearable tech partnership with RCG-Royal Caribbean Group.

Working in collaboration with the Innovation Team of Royal Caribbean, TraceSafe developed custom wearable devices and bands equipped with RFID modules and long-lasting batteries. The companies worked together to design and manufacture a sleek wearable that can meet both the high standards for comfort of the Royal Caribbean as well as the line’s commitment to sustainability.

Within the partnership, RCG will be the first major customer of TraceSafe to enroll in the recycling program of the company that aims at reducing electronic waste via refurbishing used IoT devices and giving them a 2nd life.

Wayne Lloyd (TraceSafe CEO) said they were proud to be "the number one choice in enterprise IoT wearables for cruise lines.” He added the partnership with Royal Caribbean highlighted their ability "to deliver uncompromising IoT solutions on a massive scale.”

Jay Schneider (RCG's CXO/Chief Product Innovation Officer) at Royal Caribbean Group added it had been the willingness of the TraceSafe team to develop a custom Tracelet device that met their requirements for style and design that propelled the partnership forward.
