On January 2, 2022, the Porto Cruise Terminal welcomed its first cruise ship of the year.

AIDA’s liner AIDAsol arrived at Porto Leixoes (Oporto City, Portugal) at 12-noon coming from Funchal (Madeira Island, Portugal) where she was for the New Year’s celebrations, with 1200+ passengers onboard, almost all of German nationality. The boat departed Leixoes at 6 pm, heading for Zeebrugge (Bruges, Belgium).

AIDAsol was at the end of her 43-night voyage across the Caribbean that started on November 25 from homeport Hamburg (Germany) and that finished at the same port on January 7.

This was the first of 143 cruise ship calls already scheduled for 2022 at the port. End-year numbers are expected to be 150000+ passengers visiting Porto.

Following an atypical year, in case sanitary conditions permit, the cruise terminal in Porto-Leixoes is expecting to have a record-breaking year.
