Disney Wonder cabins review

Of all Disney Wonder cruise ship cabins, 71% are outside (including 22 Suites, 332 Balcony staterooms, and 237 Oceanview), while 256 are Inside (96 of which are Deluxe). In total, there are 25 cabin categories, including the "Guaranteed" categories: VGT-Balcony, OGT-Oceanview, and IGT-Inside.

Below is a review of MS Disney Wonder staterooms, covering furniture, amenities, and included (complimentary) services:

All Disney Wonder cabins feature a queen-size bed (with ample under-bed storage space, Posturepedic Sealy mattress, and deluxe Egyptian cotton bedding), wardrobe, split bathroom (vanity, sink, WC, bathtub, shower, hairdryer), H20+ spa products (shampoo, conditioner, moisturizing body butter), living area (sofa, desk, curtain divider), 22-inch HDTV, electronic safe (in the closet), direct-dial phone with voicemail, mirrored vanity, and individual air-conditioning.

All Disney Wonder suites enjoy additional perks, including Disney-themed artworks, upgraded bath products, robes and slippers, luxury bedding sets, pillow menu, daily treats (canapés and fruits), iPod station, console gaming table, Blu-ray/DVD/CD player (with media library), board games, priority services (check-in and tendering at Disney Wonder cruise itinerary ports), free Internet, and pre-dinner cocktails. Suite guests also have access to concierge services, including booking Disney cruise shore excursions, making specialty dining, nursery, and spa reservations, assistance with special requests, planning private parties and celebrations, and in-room dining (with menus from the main dining room restaurants).

All Balcony staterooms have a private veranda with sliding doors and childproof locks, furnished with two chairs and a small table. Family Verandah cabins include either one queen or two convertible twin beds and a split bathroom. Oceanview staterooms have porthole windows.

Royal Suites include a master bedroom (plus a hidden double pull-down and a single pull-down bed), master bathroom (with dual sinks, closet, and whirlpool bathtub), large living room, dining area (with pantry and wet bar), guest bathroom (with shower, sink, and WC), floor-to-ceiling windows, and a wraparound private balcony with deck furniture and whirlpool bathtub.

MS Disney Wonder cabins tips

On Deck 5 there are six staterooms (plus two on Deck 6) that are technically Oceanview but can be booked as "Category 10 Inside." Their porthole views are obstructed by liferaft canisters. These "Secret Porthole Cabins" are near Flounder’s Reef Nursery and Buena Vista Theater, offering less foot traffic and noise. Most Category 10 cabins have no windows and are located on lower decks (many under nightclubs). Of Deck 5's "Secret Porthole Cabins," two are connecting pairs—ideal for families of five and an affordable alternative to Category 4. Secret Porthole cabins include 6006 (less obstructed), 6506 (less obstructed), 5020, 5520, 5022, 5024 (connecting, most obstructed), 5522, and 5524 (connecting, most obstructed).

"Secret Balcony Cabins" (aft on Decks 6 and 7) are in Category 7A but, unlike most 7A Navigator’s Verandahs, they feature a regular step-out balcony. These staterooms have slightly obstructed views due to their aft location. Secret Balcony cabin numbers are 6134, 6634, 7120, and 7620.

"Connecting Balcony Cabins" are most adjacent balcony staterooms (except those divided by steel panels). Dividers can be unlocked and folded back by the cabin attendant to create a shared balcony. For group bookings, multiple dividers can be removed to form one extended balcony.

Disney Wonder's smallest cabins for families of five are Category 4 Deluxe Family Oceanview staterooms (with balcony). A cheaper option is to book two connecting cabins in Category 9 (Deluxe Oceanview) or Category 10 (Deluxe Inside). This costs roughly 2/3 to 3/4 of the price of one Family Oceanview, while providing about 40% more space and two full bathrooms (though no balcony). If a balcony is essential, consider one Category 6 Deluxe Oceanview or one Category 7 Navigator’s Verandah combined with a Category 9, 10, or 11. These pairings are cheaper, larger, more private, and provide two bathrooms, though they are not connecting. For connecting balcony cabins, book two Category 5 staterooms.

For families of six or more, the options are the 2-Bedroom Suite or the Royal Suite (maximum capacity seven). However, booking two staterooms is usually much cheaper than one suite.

"Cabin upgrades" are available when booking a low-priced "guarantee" category, with the chance of being upgraded. A guarantee booking secures a stateroom in the chosen category but without a specific assignment until closer to departure. Since cheaper categories often sell out, Disney sometimes upgrades early bookers to free up lower-fare rooms. Guests may also request upgrades at check-in (cruise terminal). Depending on availability, Disney may offer paid upgrades, typically at a lower cost than if booked directly.
