Disney Wonder (built in 1999, last refurbished in October 2020, with another scheduled for October 2023) is one of the two smaller Walt Disney cruise ships, along with Disney Magic.
The Disney Wonder cruise ship deck plan features a total of 877 staterooms for 1,754 passengers (maximum capacity 2,713), served by 950 crew members. The vessel has 11 decks (6 with cabins), 11 dining options (including 6 restaurants), 10 lounges, bars, and clubs, 3 swimming pools, 4 outdoor Jacuzzis (whirlpools), and 12 elevators.
Disney Wonder deck plan changes – 2016 refurbishment review
The deck plan changes following the 2016 drydock refurbishment in Cadiz, Spain (September 9 through October 23) included:
- Redesigned upper decks with AquaDunk (waterslide), AquaLab (interactive water play area with the Twist n' Spout waterslide), and Dory's Reef (toddler splash zone).
- Animator's Palette restaurant (former Studio C) with new HDTVs, lighting, wall designs, and sound system.
- New Carioca's – a Brazilian-themed restaurant replacing Parrot Cay.
- Tiana's Place – a new, Disney Wonder-exclusive restaurant inspired by Princess Tiana from "The Princess and the Frog." It features live jazz, swing, and blues performances, street party-style events, themed décor (family photos, framed culinary awards, lily-shaped candleholders), and a menu influenced by Southern U.S. cuisine (Louisiana bayou).
- Cabanas (buffet) replaced and greatly expanded from the former Topsider Buffet.
- D Lounge – a new family lounge dedicated to games and themed entertainment.
- Palo Restaurant (Deck 10) renovated with new fixtures, Venetian décor, glass artwork, and stone flooring.
- Mickey's Mainsail – new onboard shop.
- After Hours (Deck 3 adult district) received Fathoms (new nightclub), Keys (piano bar, replacing Cadillac Bar), and O'Gills (English pub) with authentic tavern menu (specialty and British beers, cocktails), dark wood décor, brass accents, plush leather seating, and London-themed Disney artwork.
- Animator's Palate Restaurant (Deck 4 dining room) updated with two new dinner shows – "Drawn to Magic" and "Animation Magic."
- Senses Spa and Salon expanded by 725 ft² / 70 m², now including a Barbershop, Chill Teen Spa, and Smile Spa.
- New "Small World Nursery" and "Nephews" areas.
- Renovated staterooms with elevated beds for extra storage.
- Lobby Atrium changes – second staircase removed, Chihuly chandelier replaced with an Art Deco design.
Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab upgrades included the first Marvel Super Hero Academy at sea, Andy's Room (Toy Story-themed, now featuring the Slinky Dog slide, Mr. Potato Head, Hamm, Woody and Jessie visits, and scavenger hunts), Club Disney Junior (with characters, games, and storytelling), and Frozen Adventures (interactive play with Olaf-led games and Anna and Elsa visits). Interiors of Pixie Hollow and Mickey Mouse Club were also updated. Programming was enhanced to provide more live character interactions.
The next drydock took place in October 2020 at Damen Shiprepair Brest, France, focused mainly on routine maintenance and minor upgrades.
