Disney Dream (2010-built, last refurbished in September-October 2024) is the first of the two DREAM-class Walt Disney cruise ships, along with Disney Fantasy. Each vessel is approximately 40% larger than the older Disney ships Magic and Wonder.
The Disney Dream cruise ship deck plan includes a total of 1,250 staterooms for 2,500 passengers (maximum capacity is 3,500), served by 1,458 crew members. The ship has 14 decks (9 with cabins), 10 dining venues, 11 lounges/bars/clubs, 3 swimming pools, 7 outdoor Jacuzzis (whirlpool hot tubs), and 14 elevators.
In 2017, Disney Dream's theater programming was enhanced with the addition of the Broadway-style stage production "Beauty and the Beast". Based on Walt Disney’s 1991 animated classic, the new musical show features themes of adventure, romance, and magic. It debuted on November 6, 2017 (4-day Bahamas cruise, Nov 6–10) roundtrip from Port Canaveral (Orlando, Florida). Other signature theater productions on the ship include "The Golden Mickeys" and "Disney’s Believe". Walt Disney’s live-action film adaptation of "Beauty and the Beast" premiered in theaters on March 17, 2017, starring Emma Watson (as Belle) and Dan Stevens (as the Beast/Prince).
Disney Dream deck plan changes – 2024 refurbishment review
MS Disney Dream’s most recent drydock refurbishment (September 16–October 19, 2024) was completed at Damen Shiprepair Yard in Brest, France.
The project involved significant upgrades and enhancements. Key additions included Donald's Cantina (Deck 11), the Dream Tower Suite (installed inside the forward funnel and themed after Walt Disney’s 1940 film "Fantasia"), a new Concierge Lounge (inspired by the 1997 Disney film "Hercules"), a refreshed lobby and check-in area, and a wellness complex with additional treatment rooms for massages. Youth areas also received updates and renovations.
The Edge (teen club) was relocated from Deck 13 to Deck 5 and outfitted with new features, including an outdoor sundeck with a ball pit, recreational games, and a dedicated event lounge. The Oceaneer Club (for kids ages 3–10) was enhanced with a new Marvel-themed attraction.
The drydock also included general maintenance, machinery overhauls and upgrades, hull cleaning and repainting, safety inspections, and classification work.
