ms AmaDouro (built 2019) is the second AmaWaterways Douro River cruise ship in Portugal, with fleet mate AmaVida (2013). Just like most of the top-luxury riverboats in Portugal, the AMA Douro ship is a partnership between AmaWaterways (US company) and the Portuguese cruise line and tour operator DouroAzul (shipowner and boat's co-operator). MS AmaDouro is a modified design Concerto-class APT river ship made specifically for cruising on Douro River. Boat’s unique design resulted in elegance, spacious accommodations, spacious public areas and some really unique for a river cruiser features. The AmaDouro ship is also operated by APT Touring (Australian cruise tour company).
AmaDouro cruise ship deck plan has a total of 51 staterooms (for 102 passengers) served by 38 crew/staff, 4 passenger decks, 1 swimming pool (outdoor), 1 restaurant, 2 bar-lounges (1 outdoor), top-deck helipad, 1 glass elevator (connecting all cabin decks).
The AMA ship Douro also features the rarely found (even on luxury river cruise ships) wellness complex (sauna room, spa/treatment room for massages) and outdoor swimming pool. Despite its relatively small passenger capacity, the ship offers plenty of public space, with a variety of dining and wellness facilities found only on biggest riverboats.
