MS Manara (built in 2017 as "World Dream", last refurbished in 2023-2024, with a previous refurbishment by GHK in 2020) was the second ship in the Dream Cruises fleet—a Chinese premium travel brand (2015–2022) owned by the multinational corporation Genting Hong Kong (GHK). She was the second large cruise vessel built for a Chinese company, following her sistership Genting Dream (2016). The vessel features a modern design, comparable to NCL Breakaway and NCL Getaway, and has gross tonnage/volume similar to NCL Epic.
Since February 2023, the ship has been owned by Cruise Saudi—a Jeddah-based tourism enterprise established in 2023 and fully owned by the PIF (Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, founded in 1971). She is operated by Saudi Arabia’s travel brand Aroya Cruises (launched in 2023).
The MS World Dream / AROYA Manara cruise ship deck plan includes a total of 1678 cabins accommodating up to 3362 passengers, served by 1620 crew. The ship has 14 passenger-accessible decks (out of 18 total), with cabins located on 10 decks. Onboard amenities include 35 restaurants, bars, and lounges, 2 swimming pools, 4 Jacuzzis, 16 elevators, a water park with 6 waterslides, an outdoor movie theater, a 3D cinema, a ropes course, a zip line, and over 1100 m² (10,760 ft²) of retail space.
The liner also features two luxury mini-submarines, each with a capacity for 4 passengers plus the pilot.
The ship’s main dining venues include Windows (main dining room), World Palace (main dining room), World Buffet (lido restaurant), Aeris Spa Cafe, Bread Box, Tiffin Cafe, Umi Uma Sushi Bar (Japanese), and Silk Road & Cabaret (Chinese).
Entertainment venues onboard include Bar City (entertainment complex), Zouk (disco nightclub), World Casino, Red Lion Pub, Zodiac Theatre (999-seat venue with 3D movies), World Rouge Lounge, and Cinema at Sea.
MS World Dream is home to the world’s first permanent eSports gaming facility at sea. The 1700 ft² (158 m²) venue is part of the "VR Center"—a virtual reality gaming complex that includes the ESC Experience Lab. The eSports facility accommodates up to 80 audience members and 10 players. Events are streamed live across all onboard TVs and LED screens, including in all staterooms, the indoor Zodiac Theatre, and the outdoor Zouk Beach Club. These competitions involve both physical and mental training. eSports was officially recognized as a medal sport at the 2022 Asian Games (Hangzhou, China) and is also under consideration as an activity for the 2024 Summer Olympics (Paris, France).
