Deck layout and review

Review of MS Midnatsol deck 9 (Observation)

  • Horisont Hall & Horisont Gallery is an indoor observation lounge with ample seating and panoramic windows. The lounge is served by the Polar Bar.
  • Polar Bar is located portside /aft of the Atrium) with a seating capacity 12 guests and great views of the Atrium levels below.
  • The TRIM Fitness is a small gym room, equipped with treadmills, exercise bikes, free weights. Next to the Fitness are located 2 separate Saunas (for men/women) with locker rooms and showers.
  • While this Hurtigruten vessel has no swimming pool, it has 2 oversized outdoor whirlpools.
  • Sun Deck is an open-air space which has the best vantage points for guests to enjoy the Norwegian Arctic scenery views along the ms Midnatsol itinerary route. The area has plenty of deckchairs around the ship’s funnel and a helipad. There is a sheltered seating area with wooden chairs and tables located aft of the Atrium.
  • The outdoor Sun Deck is also the place for the Hurtigruten Midnatsol’s special ceremony called “Arctic Circle baptism”, which includes a Neptune-costumed crewmember, ice-cold seawater, and a free shot – for warming up.
