Viking Truvor (built in 1987 as “Kirov”, acquired and extensively refurbished in 2009, last refurbished in 2013) is one of the four Viking River Cruises Russia ships – together with Viking Akun, Viking Helgi, and Viking Ingvar (all of the same vessel class), as well as Viking Rurik and Viking Sineus. This Volga River cruise ship is named after the Viking chieftain Truvor (the name means “faithful”). He and Sineus were brothers of Rurik – one of the most prominent Vikings, founder of the Rurik Dynasty and the Kievan Rus empire.
Viking Truvor’s deck plan includes a total of 104 staterooms for 210 passengers, served by 115 crew and staff (all English-speaking), across 4 passenger decks. The ship is equipped with 1 glass elevator (connecting all decks). The vessel does not feature a gym, pool/whirlpool, or spa. However, guests may access health and spa facilities at luxury hotels along the Truvor’s Volga River cruise itinerary. Viking Truvor operates cruises between Moscow and St Petersburg (in both directions) from May through October.
