Ambassador Cruise Line UK announced that former British athlete, Sally Gunnell OBE had been chosen as godmother for their first vessel, Ambience.

The 1991-built cruise ship MV Ambience was previously known as "Pacific Dawn" (P&O Australia), "Amy Johnson" (CMV) and "Satoshi" (Ocean Builders' "Crypto Cruise Ship" 2020-2021). The vessel was launched as Regal Princess (link to the 2014-built liner). As "Pacific Dawn", it was operated by P&O Australia (Carnival Corporation-owned company) in the period 2007-2020.

Ambassador is the first British cruise company to launch in the UK in over a decade. Sailing from London, the no-fly itineraries provide a premium-value, authentic experience predominantly aimed at the 50+ traveler.

Sally Gunnell was born in Chigwell (Essex). She is the only British woman to hold 4 major track titles simultaneously (Commonwealth, European, World, Olympic). Since retiring from international athletics, the 55-year-old Sally, who is also a mother of three, has become an advocate for health/well-being for the over 50s.
