Construction of the cruise port in Samana (Dominicana) to begin in July

DR President Luis Abinader announced that in July 2022, he would give the first peck to build a cruise port in Samana (Dominicana).

In the activity he led with David Collado, the Minister of Tourism, they announced that Dominicana would host the Annual Conference of FCCA (Florida and Caribbean Cruise Association) to be held from October 12 to 14, 2022.

He explained the execution of the work would be done in conjunction with a Dominican company that would be announced in the coming days.

President Luis Abinader also reiterated the materialization of another cruise ship port in Cabo Rojo, Pedernales, and a couple of other works that he didn't specify, but he emphasized that they were working on them.

“No one will regret it, the Dominican Republic is in fashion and we have returned to conquer the world from our coasts and ports."

According to Collado, in May 2022, a total of 82,199 cruise passengers had arrived in Dominicana on 10 cruise lines, carrying out 32 operations, of which 13 ferries and 19 cruises. From July 2021 through to May 2022, an accumulated number of 754,760 cruisers was registered.
