Marella UK removes pre-cruise COVID testing

Marella Cruises announced the relaxation of the line's travel testing policy and removed pre-cruise COVID testing for international cruising.

The market leader in the United Kingdom market for All-inclusive/Fly-Cruises removed all pre-departure testing for departures from October 2022 and announced it will continue to follow local guidance accordingly.

Marella (renamed in 2018 from "Thomson Cruises") is a "TUI Group"-owned and "TUI UK & Ireland"-operated British cruise line, that offers low-price voyages in Europe, Caribbean, and Asia. The company's older vessels are chartered from Holland America Line and Celestyal Cruises. Marella UK's new fleet consists of TUI-owned ships formerly owned and operated by RCG-Royal Caribbean Group and TUI AG.

According to Chris Hackney (Marella's Managing Director for TUI UK & Ireland), their customers were their number one priority, and the relaxation of those rules meant guests could enjoy "a simpler process pre-travel, without having to spend any additional costs."

"We look forward to continuing to welcome both new and existing customers onboard our ships for our Winter 2022 and Summer 2023 itineraries”.
