MSC Opera joins MSC World Europa and MSC Poesia at Doha Port for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022

MSC Opera, the 3rd cruise ship to serve as a "floating hotel" during the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar arrived at Doha Port.

MSC Opera is joining MSC World Europa and MSC Poesia which arrived earlier at Doha Port, to offer a luxurious hospitality experience to FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 fans.

MSC Opera is a contemporary floating hotel that offers luxurious services to World Cup fans with various room options ranging from traditional cabins to balcony staterooms and luxury suites, in addition to multiple dining possibilities and entertainment programs for all ages.

At 275-metre in length and 32-metre in width, the 13-deck MSC Opera can accommodate ~2,679 people with 1,075 staterooms.

Floating hotels are among the several facilities provided by the State of Qatar for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 fans, offering multiple accommodation options throughout the tournament, such as villas, fan villages, apartments, and usual hotels.

HE Chairman of Qatar Tourism and Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker said that offering accommodation and recreational services onboard floating hotels reflected "the strenuous efforts exerted to organize the best World Cup in history."

According to MSC Cruises Group's estimates, owner of the 3 floating hotels that serve the tournament, the capacity of the 3 liners reaches 10,000 beds.

Reservations for the first week of the World Cup reached 100%.

The cooperation between MSC Cruises and Qatar dates back to 2016 when Doha welcomed the first giant cruise ship of the Group, MSC Fantasia.
