AOV-Atlas Ocean Voyages has chosen explorer Preet Chandi as the godmother for its upcoming vessel, World Voyager, scheduled to commence service in November 2023. The christening ceremony will take place in Ushuaia, Argentina, on November 8th.

Preet Chandi, a physiotherapist and British army captain, achieved international recognition in 2022 for her remarkable solo expedition across Antarctica to the South Pole. In January 2023, she set another record by completing the longest-ever solo and unsupported one-way polar ski expedition. Her exceptional achievements earned her the appointment as a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2022 Birthday Honors.

Following the ship's christening, World Voyager will embark on her inaugural voyage, an extraordinary 9-day "Antarctic Discovery" expedition.

James Rodriguez (AOV's President and CEO) expressed his excitement about Preet Chandi's role as the godmother of World Voyager. He noted that her remarkable accomplishments in polar exploration align perfectly with the company's commitment to providing immersive and adventurous travel experiences.

Similar to the sisterships World Traveller and World Navigator, World Voyager will offer Antarctic itineraries lasting from 9 to 14 nights, departing from and returning to Ushuaia.
