Cunard unveils Royal Canadian Geographical Society speaker line-up for 2024 Alaska cruises

Cunard Line announced its continued collaboration with the Royal Canadian Geographical Society (RCGS), unveiling an extensive lineup of speakers for the 2024 Alaska season. Each Alaska voyage aboard MS Queen Elizabeth, commencing June 21, will feature an esteemed RCGS speaker.

Guests aboard Queen Elizabeth will delve deep into the Alaskan experience through Cunard's renowned Insight onboard enrichment program and a diverse selection of shore excursions.

The RCGS, a prominent non-profit geographical and educational organization in Canada, will showcase a variety of experts on voyages running from June to September 2024. These RCGS speakers, encompassing celebrated explorers, naturalists, geographical specialists, astronauts, and indigenous advocates, will tailor exclusive programming for Cunard guests:

  • Brian and Dee Keating: Wilderness adventurers and naturalists with nearly four decades of experience, utilizing wildlife films to highlight the significance of nature (June 21-July 1).
  • Andrew Fuestel: Accomplished astronaut with 23 years of service at NASA, having completed three spaceflights, including missions aboard the Space Shuttle and Russian Soyuz rocket (July 1-11).
  • Patricia Sims, RCGS Fellow: Award-winning documentary filmmaker and naturalist, renowned for founding World Elephant Day to raise global awareness about threats facing elephants (July 11-22).
  • Russell Potter, RCGS Fellow: Noted author and historian specializing in the lost Franklin Arctic expedition of 1845 (July 22-August 1).
  • George Kourounis, RCGS Explorer in Residence: World-renowned explorer and adventurer, known for contributions to the Discovery Channel and the Weather Network (August 1-10).
  • Lynn Moorman, RCGS Fellow: Geographer and educator focusing on glaciers, fjords, and geographic technologies along the British Columbia Coast and Alaska (August 10-20).
  • Jill Heinerth, RCGS Explorer in Residence: Underwater diver, explorer, and educator specializing in coastal environments (August 20-30).
  • David Gray, RCGS Fellow: Naturalist, photographer, and adventurer, recognized for his acclaimed radio program "The Calgary Eyeopener" (August 30-September 9).

In addition to the RCGS speakers, Cunard has curated a distinguished roster of experts to further enrich the Alaska experience, including Alex Debogorski from the History Channel's "Ice Road Truckers," Preet Chandi (MBE), also known as "Polar Preet," Kenton Cool, Caroline Hamilton, and Ross Kemp, among others, who will contribute their unique perspectives to enhance the guest experience in Alaska.
