Star Voyager to homeport in Hong Kong for Summer and Autumn 2025 sailings

StarCruises has formally announced the upcoming homeporting of Star Voyager in Hong Kong, with operations commencing on June 27, 2025. The deployment marks a significant development in the company's strategic return to the region. The vessel will operate from Ocean Terminal, centrally located within Victoria Harbour, providing passengers with direct access to both maritime departures and the city’s major commercial and cultural centres.

Following strong demand for its initial summer itinerary, the cruise line has extended Star Voyager’s Hong Kong deployment by an additional eleven weeks. This extension will carry operations through the autumn, with voyages now continuing until November 14, 2025. Detailed itineraries for this extended period are expected to be released by the end of May.

Departing from Hong Kong, Star Voyager will operate a selection of 2-, 3-, and 5-night voyages to several regional ports in Japan and Taiwan. Scheduled destinations include Naha and Ishigaki in Okinawa, as well as Keelung, Kaohsiung, and the Penghu archipelago in Taiwan. The ship’s schedule is designed to cater to both local residents and international visitors, supporting Hong Kong’s position as a key embarkation hub and aligning with the growth of the Fly and Rail Cruise sectors.

A notable feature of the programme is the return of the 2-night weekend "High Seas Cruise," departing every Friday. This short itinerary remains a popular option for those seeking brief leisure voyages without port calls, offering a sea-based retreat close to home.

Between June 29 and August 13, 2025, a series of roundtrip cruises to Taiwan will operate on select dates. Passengers may opt for either the 3-night Kaohsiung–Penghu voyage, departing Sundays, or the 2-night Kaohsiung route, departing Wednesdays. These itineraries offer access to southern Taiwan’s diverse coastal attractions. Kaohsiung, a principal maritime centre, combines modern art spaces with traditional temples and dynamic local markets. Penghu, by contrast, offers a quieter experience, with its heritage villages and clear-water beaches.

Additionally, three Okinawa-focused 5-night cruises are scheduled to depart on July 20, August 3, and August 17, 2025. Each of these voyages includes stops at Naha and Ishigaki, affording guests the opportunity to experience Ryukyu cultural sites such as Shurijo Castle, alongside coastal leisure at Ishigaki’s beaches and reefs.

For travellers interested in visiting both Japan and Taiwan in a single itinerary, Star Voyager will offer two 5-night sailings calling at Ishigaki, Keelung, and Penghu. These are scheduled for departure on July 27 and August 24, 2025. The dual-nation itinerary offers a combination of cultural immersion and scenic cruising through some of East Asia’s most picturesque coastal regions.

Onboard, Star Voyager is equipped to deliver a broad range of amenities and services. Accommodations include standard staterooms as well as Palace Suites, which offer enhanced privacy, 24-hour butler service, and a suite of personalised options. Recreational facilities include water parks, a climbing wall, zipline, and a variety of live entertainment offerings.

Passengers beginning or concluding their voyage in Hong Kong are encouraged to explore the city’s many attractions. Options include panoramic views from Victoria Peak, cultural landmarks such as Wong Tai Sin Temple, and the tranquil setting of Nan Lian Garden. The cruise experience, when paired with a land-based stay, provides a convenient and comprehensive travel option for regional and international visitors alike.
