Magong (fka Makung) is a port city in China's Taiwan Province and seat of Penghu County. The county includes Penghu Islands (archipelago of 90 islands) in Taiwan Strait (separating China from Taiwan in South China Sea). Other cruise port cities in Taiwan include Kaohsiung, Keelung, Anping, Taichung, Hualien.
Magong City is Penghu's largest, with population over 60,000 (Penghu's total population is around 100,000). Penghu Islands are powered by Hujing Power Plant (on Table Island). On Magong Island is archipelago's airport (Penghu Airport, opened in 1977) and principal seaport (Magong Harbor) serving cargo vessels and passenger ships (ferries and cruise liners).
