The Basel, Switzerland-based global travel retailer Avolta has introduced a new retail shopping experience on NCL-Norwegian Cruise Line’s latest vessel, Norwegian Aqua. The ship has 8 duty-free boutiques alongside dedicated zones for fashion, watches, eyewear, and pre-owned luxury goods.

Among the highlights is the debut of several firsts at sea: standalone Breitling and TAG Heuer boutiques, a dedicated Norqain timepiece outlet, and fashion selections from Bally and Ralph Lauren. The retail assortment also includes a curated range of pre-owned luxury accessories, reflecting a growing trend toward sustainable, high-end purchasing.

Passengers can engage with Avolta’s interactive retail technologies, such as the Fragrance Finder and Whisky Finder, which are designed to tailor the shopping experience to individual preferences. The retail spaces also feature a merchandise collection inspired by artist Allison Hueman’s hull design for Norwegian Aqua, entitled Where the Sky Meets the Sea, with the artwork reflected in exclusive items available onboard.

With this launch, Avolta strengthens its partnership with NCL, managing retail operations across 18 of the fleet’s 19 vessels.

The initiative underscores a broader trend in maritime retail, focusing on personalization, brand exclusivity, and immersive design.
