Princess Cruises has revealed the nighttime spectacle awaiting guests aboard Star Princess when she departs on October 4, 2025. With entertainment created to engage every deck, the large ship presents original theatrical performances, stargazing candlelight concerts, and live pop-up shows by an international cast.
In the Princess Arena theatre, two new productions make their debut. Meridian follows noblewoman Arabella Dovewood aboard the fictional Celestial, weaving a tale of hidden emotions set against masked balls and engine rooms, accompanied by an original score and reimagined hits—delivered under the direction of BAFTA-winning Dan Shipton with choreography by Kieran Daley‑Ward and production by Ross Nicholson. Illuminate: A Spectacle of Joy transports audiences beneath a nostalgic tent, joining a troupe of characters inspired by ringmaster archetypes in a vibrant celebration of wonder and illusion, choreographed by Jay Revell with music by Kola Bello; both shows owe their immersive design to a partnership with Black Skull Creative.
Familiar favourites also return, including Viva La Música, a lively Latin‑themed performance choreographed by Liz Imperio, featuring hits such as Havana and Oye Como Va, bringing rhythmic energy to the stage.
Beyond the theatre, evenings continue to unfold across the ship. In The Dome—a glass‑enclosed, top‑deck venue—guests can experience the inaugural Candlelight Concert Series, where classical arrangements are reimagined in a candle‑lit atmosphere with sweeping ocean views.
In the Piazza, the Princess Jamz 45‑minute show brings together 15 musicians from the Princess World Orchestra for lively performances, while the new Celestial Champagne Soirée blends music, lights, and visual storytelling, culminating in the iconic Champagne Waterfall experience.
The ship’s entertainment is crafted by a global ensemble representing performers from 24 countries, with pop‑up events, deck parties, and themed evenings complementing the main shows.
Lorna Warren, Vice President of Hotel Operations and Guest Experience, highlighted that these offerings go beyond mere shows, intended to surprise, inspire, and linger with guests long after the voyage ends.
Star Princess, the second ship in Princess’s LNG‑powered Sphere class, carries up to 4,300 guests and embarks on a diverse inaugural season visiting the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Panama Canal, and Alaska.
