CCL-Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Legend made an unplanned call at Acapulco, Mexico, on Saturday, October 11th, marking the company’s first visit to the port in more than 15 years. The stop resulted from a weather-related itinerary adjustment during the vessel’s current voyage.
After departing Acapulco, Carnival Legend continued its 16-day repositioning cruise from San Francisco to Galveston. The itinerary includes calls at Puntarenas, Costa Rica; Cartagena, Colombia; and Grand Cayman, before transiting the Panama Canal on October 16th and concluding in Galveston on October 22nd.
Carnival’s last visit to Acapulco occurred in 2010, and the recent call serves as a preview of future operations in the region. Earlier this year, the company confirmed that Carnival Legend will return to the port as part of a Carnival Journeys voyage in 2027. That 16-day repositioning sailing is scheduled to depart Tampa on April 4th, 2027, and travel to Seattle via a full Panama Canal transit, featuring visits to Cartagena and Santa Marta in Colombia, Cabo San Lucas, and Acapulco.
