RCI-Royal Caribbean International has officially commenced the construction of its 7th Oasis-class ship, with a steel-cutting ceremony held at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France. The project marks another milestone in the line’s largest ship-class series, scheduled for delivery in 2028.

During the ceremony, representatives from both Royal Caribbean and the shipyard joined naval architects, engineers and designers to mark the start of fabrication. The vessel remains unnamed at this stage, and further details—including features and deployment—will be revealed at a later date.

The seventh vessel continues the evolution of the Oasis-class line, which first began with Oasis of the Seas in 2009. In its announcement the company noted that the new ship will carry forward the class’s reputation for combining large-scale capacity with immersive onboard amenities, entertainment and dining options.

By initiating a new build of this magnitude, Royal Caribbean reinforces its commitment to a high-end fleet development strategy. The ship’s construction is part of a broader order book that includes additional vessels beyond the Icon-class and Oasis-class lines.
