MOL-Mitsui Ocean Cruises, Japan’s leading luxury cruise line, has released 22 new itineraries for 2026 aboard the Mitsui Ocean Fuji under the theme “Funatabi – Beautiful Encounters with Japan.” The sailings, now available for booking in North America, are designed to provide guests with an immersive experience of Japan’s natural beauty, seasonal traditions, and maritime culture.

The 2026 schedule runs from March through December, featuring voyages ranging from 5 to 11 days. Each itinerary has been developed to highlight Japan’s four distinct seasons, offering views of cherry blossoms in spring, summer festivals and fireworks, and coastal scenery rich in autumn and winter character. Departures are conveniently scheduled from major ports including Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, and Kobe.

Among the featured sailings are spring voyages following the cherry blossom trail, summer departures celebrating regional festivals such as Nebuta, and autumn cruises exploring southern shores during the equinox. The season concludes with a winter-themed “Coastal Japan Christmas” voyage.

Company representatives explained that these itineraries were created for travelers seeking an authentic cultural encounter. The voyages include guided shore experiences in most ports, often led by English-speaking local experts, as well as onboard inclusions such as beverages, Wi-Fi, and cultural programming.

Launched in December 2024, the Mitsui Ocean Fuji is a 32,477-gross-ton, 458-guest vessel designed to reflect Japanese craftsmanship and hospitality. With an all-suite configuration and a service approach rooted in omotenashi — the spirit of genuine care — the ship offers a refined yet relaxed atmosphere. Guests experience cuisine, entertainment, and hospitality consistent with Japan’s own approach to leisure at sea.

In North America, Distinct Cruises International serves as the general sales agent for Mitsui Ocean Cruises. The line continues to position itself as a bridge between Japanese tradition and contemporary maritime luxury, offering an opportunity for international travelers to experience the country’s coasts from an authentically Japanese perspective.
