The LNG-powered MSC Euribia is en route to the UAE and the Arabian Gulf after its planned Red Sea repositioning was cancelled due to security concerns.
Originally slated to sail through the Suez Canal to the Gulf, the large vessel instead began a longer voyage from Northern Europe and made a stop at Las Palmas de Gran Canaria before continuing south via the African continent.
The ship is scheduled to homeport in Dubai from November 8th, 2025, through early April 2026, offering 3-, 4- and 7-night roundtrips. Destinations include Abu Dhabi, Sir Bani Yas Island, Doha, Manama (Bahrain), and Muscat (Oman).
The diversion around Africa reflects the broader challenges facing cruise operators in the region, as the Red Sea remains operationally sensitive. MSC indicated that the rerouting was necessary owing to threats in the Red Sea corridor, prompting multiple ships to adapt their repositioning strategies.
