ACL-American Cruise Lines has announced the christening of its newest vessel, the American Pioneer, which was formally named in a ceremony at Mallory Square, Key West, on November 10th. The event marks the introduction of the 21st ship to the company's fleet.

The christening ceremony brought together inaugural cruise guests, local partners, and community members on the ship’s top deck for the traditional blessing and bottle smash, followed by a reception in the Sky Lounge. Remarks were given by Charles B. Robertson, President & CEO of American Cruise Lines, and the ship’s godmother, Danise “Dee Dee” Henriquez, the Mayor of Key West. This is the second American Cruise Lines vessel for which Mayor Henriquez has served as godmother.

Charles B. Robertson stated that the company was pleased to christen another new ship in Key West and was honored by the presence of the godmother and the inaugural guests.

The American Pioneer, with a capacity of 130 guests, features private balconies for every stateroom and suite, along with multiple lounges and dining venues. The vessel’s inaugural voyage was the 16-Day Grand Florida Coast & Keys itinerary, which commenced on October 31st from Amelia Island and concluded on November 15th in St. Petersburg. Key West serves as a regular two-day port of call on this itinerary. The company currently has nine additional new vessels under construction, including four sisterships to the American Pioneer.
