Hapag-Lloyd Cruises unveils 2-fare structure for 2025 bookings

Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has announced a revised fare structure that will take effect for all new bookings made on or after December 2nd, 2025. The company will replace its former three-tier pricing model with two clearly defined options, PLATINUM and SILVER, in an effort to simplify the reservation process and respond to guests’ expectations for greater transparency and flexibility.

Company representatives indicated that the adjustment is intended to make itinerary planning more straightforward. Clas Eckholt, Vice President Commercial at TUI Cruises, noted that the reduction to two fares was designed to create a more intuitive decision framework, with PLATINUM offering expanded flexibility and SILVER maintaining a familiar range of core services.

Existing bookings will remain governed by the previous terms.

Under the revised PLATINUM fare, travellers will have access to a one-time free rebooking of the travel date up to 90 days before departure. Cancellations may be made up to 180 days before sailing for a modest processing fee. For longer voyages of 22 days or more, and for higher suite categories, adjusted policies will provide additional assurance for early planners. PLATINUM continues to include the ability to choose cabin or suite category and deck, along with early access to shore excursion reservations.

The SILVER fare retains its established scope of services and availability-based booking conditions. Cabin or suite assignments will be made by the cruise line at the start of the voyage, and shore excursions may be booked 14 days after publication.

Beginning with departures from January 3rd, 2026, the company will further enhance onboard inclusions by offering a selection of complimentary soft drinks throughout the day to all guests. Core amenities across both fares will continue unchanged, including champagne on arrival, a daily replenished minibar, 24-hour in-suite dining, full board with gourmet cuisine, and itinerary-dependent experiences such as Zodiac excursions.
