MSC World Asia begins final countdown toward its 2026 maiden voyage

MSC Cruises has confirmed that its newest ship, MSC World Asia, will enter service in December 2026 as the third in the WORLD Class series.

The vessel is scheduled to offer 7-night Mediterranean cruises during the winter 2026-2027 season and a revised itinerary for summer 2027.

The design of World Asia draws on Asian cultural and aesthetic influences while retaining the signature profile common to her sister ships, including a vertical bow and a distinctive Y-shaped aft opening onto the open-air promenade.

On board, passengers will find a variety of novel venues alongside returning favourites. Among the new features are “The Harbour,” an Asian-inspired outdoor park that offers a high-rope course, water slides, and a waterslide ride from 12 decks down — deemed the longest dry slide at sea.

The leisure and entertainment spaces include a revamped Luna Park for game shows and themed events, a family-oriented Clubhouse with activities for children and adults, and an expansive World Promenade that combines open-air dining, lounging, and live entertainment against ocean views.

Dining venues will span from fine specialty restaurants to casual street-food style spots, covering a spectrum of cuisines and atmospheres. Suites, balcony cabins and varied accommodation types will cater to diverse guest preferences. The ship’s design incorporates distinct onboard districts to help travellers orient themselves and customise their experience.

With her launch scheduled for winter 2026, MSC World Asia is positioned to bring a fresh, culturally inspired dimension to the World Class fleet — combining modern amenities, thematic design and a comprehensive range of guest options for Mediterranean cruising.
