Oceania Sonata to debut La Table and Nikkei Kitchen in 2027

The luxury line Oceania Cruises has revealed that its upcoming vessel, Oceania Sonata, set to launch in August 2027, will host two entirely new dining venues: an ultra-exclusive fine-dining restaurant named La Table par Maîtres Cuisiniers de France and an evening eatery called Nikkei Kitchen.

La Table will be unique at sea: the only onboard restaurant to launch bearing the endorsement of Maîtres Cuisiniers de France (MCF). With just 18 seats per night, it will offer a rotating menu crafted by the ship’s Executive Culinary Directors, Chefs Alexis Quaretti and Eric Barale — both MCF members — sometimes joined by invited Master Chefs from around the world. The venue will also revive the cruise line’s signature Dom Pérignon Experience, delivering a 6-course tasting paired with vintage Champagne.

Nikkei Kitchen will present a different culinary course, drawing on the rich heritage of Nikkei cuisine — the fusion of Peruvian ingredients and Japanese techniques — with dishes centred on fresh seafood, bright citrus, soy-based sauces and spicy peppers. Chef Gustavo Sugay, with over two decades’ experience in this cuisine, has collaborated with Quaretti and Barale to design the menus. Nikkei Kitchen will feature a modern, open-kitchen interior and will be part of the ship’s standard specialty dining options, available on a first-come, first-served basis, without reservations.

Oceania Sonata — the first in the line’s new Sonata Class — will accommodate 1,390 guests, with 30 % of accommodations designated as suites, each with a private veranda. Alongside these new venues, she will carry forward the cruise line’s signature dining venues, combining tradition with innovation.
