MSC Cruises has announced that beginning January 2026 its private island, Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve in the Bahamas will offer an expanded suite of family-oriented entertainment and wellness experiences.
In addition to the island’s existing facilities — including eight beaches and water-sports opportunities such as snorkeling, paddleboarding and jet skiing — the new offerings will introduce daily wellness and sports programmes led by two professional coaches. These will include yoga, functional training and other beach-side fitness options.
Guests will also be able to take part in an augmented-reality treasure hunt: by scanning wooden sculptures placed around the island with mobile devices or tablets, they will unlock digital storytelling about ecological themes and marine-conservation efforts, in keeping with Ocean Cay’s role as a marine reserve.
For families with children, a shoreside pop-up at the Welcome Pavilion will feature seven mascot figures from LEGO alongside MSC’s own mascot, offering a playful, interactive welcome activity as guests arrive on the island.
These enhancements aim to broaden the appeal of Ocean Cay beyond traditional beach and water recreation — blending wellness, education, family entertainment and nature, thus reinforcing the island’s position as a comprehensive private-island destination for MSC Cruises’ guests.
