Carnival Corporation & plc, the world’s largest cruise operator, has concluded a global service agreement with Evac Group that will cover preventive annual maintenance and lifecycle support for Evac environmental systems across vessels operated by its eight cruise line brands. The contract adopts a fleet-level planning approach designed to extend the operational life of these systems, improve reliability and efficiency, and enhance cost predictability for Carnival Corporation’s wide array of passenger ships.
Under the agreement, scheduled maintenance will be planned in advance and operational practices harmonised across the various cruise lines. Onboard crew training will also be included during annual service visits to reduce the likelihood of unplanned outages and contribute to the company’s wider decarbonisation objectives. Evac, as the original equipment supplier for the covered systems, will provide preventive upkeep, spare parts provisioning and operational support intended to maintain peak performance of wastewater, waste and corrosion management systems installed aboard Carnival Corporation vessels.
The service contract reflects a strategic emphasis on proactive vessel support and aligns with broader maritime trends toward structured maintenance regimens that ensure environmental systems remain functional and compliant with regulatory requirements. According to sources, this maintenance framework is expected to enhance the predictability and efficiency of fleet operations while supporting the technical capabilities already embedded in the Evac equipment.
Evac Group, headquartered in Finland and a provider of integrated water, waste and wastewater management technology for the marine and offshore sectors, will also undertake fleet-wide health checks and training programmes for shipboard personnel. The company’s technical services aim to reduce breakdowns and contribute to operational continuity across Carnival Corporation’s global fleet.
Through this contract, Carnival Corporation and Evac extend a long-standing supplier relationship into a comprehensive support regime for environmental systems that are essential to cruise ship operations, particularly as the industry moves toward more efficient, environmentally responsible practices at sea.
