Oceania Cruises plans comprehensive refurbishment of Oceania Marina

Oceania Cruises has announced plans for a major refurbishment of its vessel Oceania Marina, with the project scheduled to take place during a dry dock period in October 2026. The work will involve a comprehensive redesign of the 1,250-guest ship, including the renewal of all staterooms and a broad series of upgrades across public areas throughout the vessel.

The modernization forms the first phase of the company’s wider OceaniaNEXT program, an initiative intended to enhance multiple aspects of the onboard experience across the fleet. According to the cruise line, the program will address elements ranging from ship design and culinary offerings to service standards and enrichment activities, with the objective of aligning existing vessels with the design language of the brand’s upcoming newbuild ships.

Under the refurbishment plan, all staterooms aboard Oceania Marina will be redesigned with revised layouts, updated furnishings and newly constructed bathrooms featuring marble finishes and rainfall-style showers. Higher-category accommodations, including the Penthouse, Oceania, Vista and Owner’s Suites, will receive lighter updates intended to maintain consistency with recent improvements already introduced in those categories.

Public spaces throughout the ship will also be modernized. Bars and lounges are scheduled to receive new furnishings, carpeting and lighting as part of a coordinated interior design update. The Grand Lounge will be expanded and will incorporate a new venue known as the Founders Bar, conceived as a cocktail lounge specializing in crafted drinks and small-batch spirits.

Culinary and enrichment spaces form another central component of the renovation. The former Artist Loft will be replaced by a new Chef’s Studio designed to host cooking demonstrations, educational sessions and tasting events. In addition, the ship’s coffee venue, Baristas, will be expanded to include a bakery offering pastries and freshly prepared baked goods throughout the day.

Signature specialty restaurants—including Polo Grill, Red Ginger, Toscana and Jacques—will undergo design updates and galley improvements intended to reinforce the cruise line’s focus on culinary presentation and operational efficiency. Pool deck areas will also receive new loungers and day beds to improve passenger comfort in outdoor spaces.

Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of Oceania Cruises, indicated that the company considers the continuous refinement of the guest experience to be an ongoing approach rather than a one-time initiative. He explained that the OceaniaNEXT program is intended to reaffirm the brand’s emphasis on modern luxury and attention to detail across its fleet, ensuring that future voyages continue to reflect the company’s established standards of design, cuisine and service.

While the physical alterations will significantly reshape the ship’s interiors and amenities, the cruise line has stated that the fundamental elements of its onboard experience—particularly its service culture and culinary focus—will remain unchanged following the refurbishment.

The reinvestment in Oceania Marina represents a key stage in the brand’s broader fleet strategy, intended to maintain consistency across its ships while preparing the existing vessels for continued service alongside future additions to the fleet.
