Atlas Ocean Voyages/AOV has implemented revised booking protections for selected spring and summer sailings, following a period of reduced demand linked to geopolitical developments in the Middle East. The measure applies to voyages in Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, and the Arctic, and allows passengers to cancel reservations without stated cause up to 15 days before departure.
Under the policy, applicable to bookings made between April 20th and May 15th for departures through August 31st, affected guests may receive a future cruise credit equivalent to the fare paid. The credit is structured for use within a 12-month booking window, valid for sailings scheduled through the end of 2027.
AOV representatives indicated that booking activity for the current summer season had declined following the outbreak of conflict involving Iran, while forward demand for later years remained comparatively stable. They further noted that elevated fuel costs and increased air travel expenses had contributed to reduced travel interest in the near term.
The introduction of the cancellation provision follows an earlier initiative offering enhanced air credits on selected European and Arctic itineraries. The latest measure was described by AOV as an additional form of assurance intended to support booking confidence under uncertain conditions.
