Oceania Cruises has confirmed that Oceania Nautica will undergo a comprehensive transformation and reenter service under the name Oceania Aurelia, with the refit aligned to the line’s OceaniaNEXT programme. The vessel is being reconfigured to support long-duration itineraries, including the company’s world cruises scheduled for 2028 and 2029, as well as a series of extended Grand Voyages.
The redesigned ship is intended to carry fewer than 500 guests, with a significant proportion of its accommodations converted into suites. Of the total inventory, 179 staterooms will take the form of expanded suite categories, most exceeding 300 square feet, with select units approaching 1,000 square feet. The accommodation mix will include updated Owner’s, Vista, and Penthouse Suites, alongside newly introduced Oceania and Horizon Suites, in addition to a smaller number of Oceanview and Inside categories.
Company leadership indicated that the vessel had been conceived as a platform for extended travel, with an emphasis on increased space, a higher ratio of suites, and a more personalized onboard environment. The concept was described as aligning with a smaller, club-style atmosphere, intended to support longer stays at sea and closer engagement with destinations.
Dining arrangements will retain several established venues, including The Grand Dining Room, Polo Grill, Toscana, Terrace Café, Waves Grill, and an evening pizzeria offering. Modifications to public spaces will include the relocation of Baristas to the Horizons area, accompanied by the addition of a bakery and a crêperie. Beverage and social venues will also be expanded, with the introduction of the Founders Bar and additional lounge concepts.
The extended nature of the itineraries has informed the development of onboard programming, with a range of enrichment facilities planned. These include a Chef’s Studio dedicated to culinary instruction, the Artist Loft for creative activities, and the LYNC Digital Center for interactive learning. Additional elements will include guest lectures and expanded wellness access, with unrestricted entry to the Aquamar Spa Terrace for all passengers.
