Virgin Voyages unifies Group Booking Program for travel advisors

Virgin Voyages has introduced a new consolidated Groups program designed to provide travel advisors with greater flexibility, streamlined booking management and enhanced earning potential. Launched on June 3rd and developed in response to advisor feedback, the initiative combines the cruise line’s previous group booking structures into a single framework intended to support the growth of group business across its network of advisors, known as First Mates.

According to Koreen McNutt, Vice President of Agency Development at Virgin Voyages, the revised program was created to offer advisors more flexibility throughout the booking process. She indicated that the structure allows inventory to be held without deposits, protects fares from future price increases and enables guests to combine group benefits with the My Next Virgin Voyage program, creating additional value for both advisors and travellers.

The new program introduces two categories. Small Groups cover between 8 and 16 cabins and include a 120-day recall period, while Large Groups encompass 17 to 75 cabins with a 150-day recall period.

Under the revised structure, advisors may hold up to 75 cabins without an initial deposit requirement. Fares and promotional offers are locked in at the time the group is created, protecting guests from subsequent price increases. Each booked cabin also receives a Group Bar Tab benefit that varies according to voyage length, ranging from US$50 on sailings of 5 nights or fewer to US$200 on voyages of 10 nights or longer.

The program further allows advisors to choose between earning one complimentary cabin for every 16 cabins sold or receiving an additional 2% commission. Group bookings also include access to a dedicated dining concierge, with up to three group dining reservations available across Virgin Voyages’ specialty restaurants, subject to sailing length and venue availability.

To mark the launch, Virgin Voyages has introduced a limited-time incentive for new groups created through 30 June 2026. During the promotional period, eligible advisors may earn one complimentary cabin for every 12 cabins booked instead of the standard requirement of 16 cabins, or opt for an additional 2% commission across all voyages. The offer is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The cruise line also confirmed that advisors with existing group reservations will retain their current benefits and previously established 120-day recall terms.
