Windstar Cruises’ sailing yacht Wind Surf is scheduled to enter dry dock at the Navantia shipyard in Cádiz, Spain, for the final phase of a 2-stage refurbishment programme. The vessel is expected to return to service on December 19th, 2026. The project, part of the company’s multi-year Setting Sails fleet-renewal initiative, represents an investment of ~US$7.5 million.

The upcoming works will extend the refurbishment to the remaining guest accommodations, with new furnishings, bedding, carpeting, interactive televisions, artwork and decorative finishes. The Veranda restaurant and Amphora dining room will also be upgraded. Stella Bistro will be replaced by Basil + Bamboo, a new dining concept combining Mediterranean and Asian influences.

Further changes include a redesigned fitness centre with a dedicated motion studio and the conversion of the existing cigar lounge into a dry sauna. The addition of two cabins will increase the yacht’s passenger capacity from 342 to 346.

The first refurbishment phase was completed in November 2024 and covered the suites and several public areas. Ahead of the yacht’s return, the crew will also need to prepare the renovated spaces, test equipment, receive supplies and familiarise themselves with the updated restaurant and wellness facilities.

With five masts and 7 sails, Wind Surf remains one of the world’s largest sailing passenger vessels, accommodating fewer than 350 guests.
