A passenger has fallen overboard from Carnival Victory today, igniting a search by Cuban authorities and U.S. Coast Guard. As the Carnival Cruise Line's ship headed from Key West to Cozumel, around 3:00 a.m., 23-year-old Brandon Paul of Floral City has gone overboard from the 8th deck 33 mi northwest of Pinar Del Rio.
Carnival Victory is currently searching on the scene along with Coast Guard Cutter Charles Sexton and Air Station Miami’s HC-144 Ocean Sentry airplane. As the search area is close to Cuban waters, Cuban search teams have also joined the effort.
